Welcome to the Multiple Sclerosis Network

The idea of The Multiple Sclerosis Network is to promote an active Forum, where both MS patients and their families and friends can come together to help and encourage each other.

We seek to actively encourage discussion on many aspects of Multiple Sclerosis, and more importantly, How It Affects You!!

Subjects that you can talk about may include:

Mood Swings: When you feel great and invigorated, why? What has happened or what have you done to create this? When you are depressed or low, why? Can anyone help? Maybe some one else has had the same experience

Fatigue: Fatigue is a major factor with MS, but here's the thing, a sedentiary unfit person who has a bad diet also suffers from fatigue. Is the fatigue due to the MS or are you just very unfit?

Diet: Certain foods affect your nervous system, make you lethargic and are generally bad for you. Others are really great, allowing you to be more energetic, your body to function and repair itself. Regardless of your condition, sensible healthy eating is vital.

Exercise: Sensible exercise is a must. MS affects your nervous system and muscular recruitment patterns. Basically use it ot lose it. Keep Moving as much as possible

Rest/Relaxation: Vital! How much do you get? Is it enough for you? What works to help you and what prevents you from resting?

Anyone like me...

I was an Air Force officer/pilot before dx, all that I ever wanted. Now, I've convinced the FAA to give me my chance again. Any other pilots who have made this happen? Active/past pilots have any comments. I'm making the process up as I go, and would like some input.
